Self Report

How do I self report?

  1. Register your positive result with Alaska COVID ENX. This will anonymously let other users know when they have been exposed. More details on how to notify others is listed below.

  2. Contact your medical provider, they can help you decide the best course of action.

  3. Isolate – stay away from others and mask up.

  4. Tell people you have been near – people need to know to protect themselves.

  5. Monitor your symptoms.

  6. Plan to get vaccinated or boosted once you've recovered.

By anonymously notifying other Alaska COVID ENX users that they may have been exposed to COVID-19, they will be able to take steps to prevent the virus from spreading further. To do this you need to request a code on the device where you use Alaska COVID ENX. The code is valid for 15 minutes.

To request a verification code by device:

iPhone

  • Go to Settings and open Exposure Notifications.

  • Select “Share a COVID-19 Diagnosis.”

  • Select “Continue” then select “Didn’t get a code?”

  • Enter the phone number of your device that uses Alaska COVID ENX and the date of your positive COVID-19 test.

  • Select “Continue.”

Android

  • Open Alaska COVID ENX and select “Share your test result to help stop the spread of COVID-19.”

  • Select “Continue” then select “I need a code.”

  • Enter the phone number of your device that uses Alaska COVID ENX and the date of your positive COVID-19 test.

  • Select “Send Code.”

You will receive a pop-up notification and a text message with your verification link. You only need to tap the notification or click the link in the text message to follow the steps in Alaska COVID ENX to anonymously alert other users of a possible exposure.

Exposure Notifications help protect your privacy by using random, rotating Bluetooth identifiers to determine if you may have been exposed to someone who has indicated they have COVID-19. You can request a one-time code to report your positive result to your Public Health Authority or Authorized Agent (AA). You must provide your mobile phone number, date of your COVID-19 test, and acknowledge that you have received a positive COVID-19 test result. With your consent and when you complete the self report form, a code will be sent to the mobile cellular phone number you provide. SMS carrier fees may apply when you request a code. This code will allow you to share your random device keys with your AA. Random device keys are randomly generated on your device using a cryptographic routine and change at least once every 24 hours to further protect your privacy. The random device keys do not include any location or identity information.

A cryptographically protected version of your phone number and the code you entered will be created and may be stored for up to 90 days (or time period chosen by your AA) to prevent duplicate submissions. After you have reported an initial positive report, your device may be prevented from submitting additional reports for up to a 90 day period.

Your AA may engage a third party to host the self-report site on its behalf. For example, the Association of Public Health Laboratories hosts the self-report website for Public Health Authorities in the U.S. In addition to hosting the site, this third party will store the cryptographically protected version of your phone number and may provide your AA with certain aggregate usage metrics. Neither Apple nor Google receives or otherwise has access to the information you provide as part of the self-reporting, such as your positive diagnosis, random device identifiers and your mobile cellular phone number.
